With this part of the project young members of migrant and local communities are encouraged to bridge the cultural divide and to bring about positive change by actively addressing social, and environmental goals enshrined in the concept of sustainable development. Activities listed in the subsections contribute towards the following Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 3
Universal health which also includes mental and emotional wellbeing through fostering validation and respect.
SDG 4
Quality education through our creative edutainment session.
SDG 5
Promoting gender equality by addressed stereotypes around gender.
SDG 10
Reduction of inequality within and among nationalities. Our entire project and the community engagement activities in particular are specifically designed mitigate inequality through marginalisation.
SDG 11
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable: the focus of our initiatives is on the promotion of a joint effort to work towards a sustainable environment within Malta’s cities and communities.
SDG 13
Climate Action the project’s community activities will provide space for innovative ideas to strengthen resilience that can lead to adaptive capacity to climate-induced impact through their implementation.
The project following four action-based community engagement activities with local and migrant youths across different age groups and families are a great opportunity to learn from each other through creative interactions. The activities will enable participants to:
- learn about each other’s values, traditions, lifestyles, and aspirations for the future,
- facilitate multicultural integration,
- creating ideas how create outdoor spaces and to protect Malta’s natural environment and its resources
