This project is promoting intercultural dialogue, and is addressing social wellbeing and environmental safety challenges as well as the needs of local and migrant youths and their families. They are the grassroots of Malta’s society and are as such an integral part of our civil society. This project will promote voluntary action among local and migrant, youths and to stimulate co-operation and networking between voluntary organisations, encourage local and migrant youths and their families to overcome their socio-cultural barriers to work together for the common goals of developing a sense of belonging, fostering a sense of friendship and inclusion and safeguarding the environment of the Maltese Islands.

The project will kick off with a StakeholderRoundtable where representatives of NGOs working with local and migrant youths and their families will be invited to share their experience and their expertise to foster an environment of understanding and of learning to contribute to our project’s aim to get opposing communities to work together for the common goals of developing a sense of belonging, fostering a sense of friendship and inclusion and safeguarding our environment and migrant youths and their families.

This will be followed by a Community Round table which is designed to create a collaborative platform between representatives of governmental and non-governmental entities, together with members of the private sector, to explore effective solutions for the community. By doing so, we hope to get a realistic perspective of what can be done. We believe that this Community Roundtable will add practical value to the information garnered from the StakeholderAction Forum.

In line with the National Strategy for Volunteering 2020-2025 the project ‘Together we Strive’ is addressing all its three pillars through the project’s activities as outlined in the project design section. Furthermore, the project’s research component will enable the formulation of an evidence- based sustainability plan which will be developed at the end of this project. Through our project activities VOs and relevant entities will be provided with the opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other. This also fosters a spirit of understanding, innovation, and VO sustainability
