We are delighted to announce that our upcoming Culture Cafe event will take place on 22 June 2024, themed ‘Modern Malta – its Art & Culture’, with the esteemed Mariella Pisani Bencini facilitating the discussion. This event promises to be an enlightening exploration of Malta’s vibrant cultural landscape.
Mariella Pisani Bencini is a distinguished author, presenter, and television producer, whose name is synonymous with the Maltese cultural scene. For 27 years, her weekly television programme ‘Meander’ has been a cornerstone in promoting the arts and culture of Malta and is instrumental in highlighting and nurturing the cultural fabric of Malta. In recognition of her extensive contributions to the sector, Mariella was honoured with the Malta Society of Arts Gold Medal Award 2021, presented by H.E. the President of Malta, George Vella.
The event will be held at our social hub at Ta Detta Restaurant, located on the picturesque Valletta Waterfront, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion moderated by Mariella Pisani Bencini, whose deep knowledge and passion for the arts have made her a beloved figure in Malta and beyond.
About the NIM Culture Cafe Series:
Our NIM Culture Café consists of a series of casual get-togethers at Ta Detta, NWAMI International Malta’s social hub located at the beautiful Valletta Waterfront, easily recognizable by a plaquette bearing our logo on the wall next to the entrance. The main aim of the Culture Café series is to introduce Maltese and international art, cultures, customs, and traditions, creating a bridge to interconnect different cultures. These events are very informal, featuring interactive conversations.
The events will be usually held on Saturdays in the morning allowing people to meet and get to know each other over a cup of tea or coffee for a contribution of 10 Euros in support of the upkeep of the Culture Café Series.
