Oslo Freedom Forum 2023, the Paykan automobile was revealed to the public.
PaykanArtCar is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 2021 to unite the talents of contemporary Iranian artists with a beloved symbol of national pride: the Paykan automobile Through creativity, the organization advocates for the restoration of human rights and dignity for all in Iran, no matter their race, religion, gender, or their sexual orientation.
The third edition of the automobile, which is covered with real hair of Iranian women and girls, who cut their hair in protest of the murder of the 22 year old Mahsa Amimi by the Iranian Moral Police aims to amplify the voices of Iran’s Women, Life, Freedom revolution. Simin Keramati, an Iranian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, was commissioned for the design.
